My Geeky Trivia
By Geeky Gem
When I was young and was new to the world of movies the only director I ever wanted to be and still kinda do today was a pioneer of his time and he still is. He still brings us fresh new movies and amazing character’s that stay with us forever. I am of course talking about Mr Steven Spielberg, so this week on Geeky trivia I thought I would bring you some bits of interesting trivia on the man that brought us a shark, an archaeologist, and some aliens, not in the same movie mind. That being said, Steven if you reading this there has to be something in sharks and aliens right?
Steven Spielberg received Germany’s Cross of Merit with Star for his sensible representation of Germany’s history in Schindler’s List.
In 1995 he was awarded the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award.

He attended California State University, Long Beach after being turned down by USC Cinema school twice.
Spielberg is Co-founder (with Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen) of DreamWorks SKG.
He has one of the original Rosebud sledge’s from Citizen Kane in his house.

When he was a child, he sneaked onto the lot of Universal Studios during a tour and befriended an editor who showed him a few things about film making.

There we have it, just a few bits of trivia about the man that inspired a generation of film-maker’s to pick up a camera and dream. The man who showed children that an Alien can be a friend and not scary. Thank you Mr Spielberg.
