Welcome back to the chart! This week finally Taken 2 has been knocked off the top spot! It seems the love for children’s films and sequels managing to knock Liam Neeson down in the top ten. Let us see how the chart is getting on this week!

1. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted - £6,030,904 (New)

2.  Paranormal Activity 4 - £2,544,701 (New)
3.  Taken 2 - £2,264,856
4.  Hotel Transylvania - £1,023,722
5.  Looper - £781,211
6.  Frankenweenie - £741,683 (New)
7. Sinister - £711,918
8.  The Perks of Being a Wallflower - £213,091
9.  Beasts of the Southern Wild - £181,801 (New)
10. Brave - £176,827

It is the time for the sequels, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, goes straight in at number 1! It is the third film in the successful series of Madagascar. The zoo animals come alive and are still trying to get back home after being shipped across the world and crashing onto an island. This time around they make friends with Circus animals. There are some very catchy songs that will get stuck in your head for days after! (Afro Circus, Afro Circus…Polka, Polka, Polka dot Afro Circus!) Number 2 sees the fourth instalment in the Paranormal Activity series of films. I like these films. I enjoy scary films and I am looking forward to seeing this for myself and how they can do different scares from the other films in the series. Taken 2 drops down to number 3. It is still pulling in audiences but this has dropped down and will tail off soon enough. Hotel Transylvania is still bringing in the audience at number 4. From what I have heard from people who have seen it, they have enjoyed it and thought it was a funny film even for adults. Looper is holding its ground in the chart at number 5. I thoroughly recommend that people catch this film while they can. Frankenweenie goes straight in at number 6. This to me seems a bit of a disappointing position for a Tim Burton film. Possibly this film is attracting more of the diehard Tim Burton fans. Time will tell if this film can build up momentum and gain audiences. Number 7 sees Sinister still scaring people. It is worth a watch and may make you want to sleep with the lights on that night! The Perks of Being a Wallflower is at number 8. Please go see! Number 9 sees a new entry with a film that is already getting Oscar buzz, Beasts of the Southern Wild is the story of a little girl and her Dad in a fictional village at the mercy of the river surrounding it. It is one of those life struggle films. Number 10 sees Brave re-entering the chart this week, probably with the help of being shown at special weekend showings in certain cinema chains.

I hope there is something for everyone in this chart this week. That is your top ten films for this week. Until next time happy cinema viewing!
