UK Weekly Top 10 Movies!

 Week ending 28th October 2012

By Kirkiechick

Hello there! It was inevitable this week that the chart would change! The release of the 23rd official Bond film obviously would knock off Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Early indications are that the Bond film is breaking box office records for this year! Let us get to the chart!

1. Skyfall - £20,180,369
2.  Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted - £2,803,874
3.  Taken 2 - £1,004,463
4.  Paranormal Activity 4 - £792,342
5.  Hotel Transylvania - £782,340
6.  Sinister - £310,408
7.  Frankenweenie - £274,780
8.  Looper - £221,768
9.  Beasts of the Southern Wild - £117,972
10.  Ice Age: Continental Drift - £102,952

We have at number one, Skyfall. I was wise enough to pre-book my tickets rather than just turn up and chance my luck of getting a ticket and let alone a good seat. I do recommend buying your tickets for this film in advance! I thoroughly enjoyed the film and I highly recommend. I managed to avoid as much as I could about the plot. I am glad I did. So I won’t give anything away! In second place this week the favourite of last week dropped down. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. It is still a popular children’s film as there aren’t many released this half-term against Bond. Taken 2 is staying steady in the chart with audiences at number three. Paranormal Activity 4 is at number four still scaring audiences! Number five sees Hotel Transylvania creeping out children for this half-term and Halloween! Sinister is still in the chart at number six, freaking out the adults! Frankenweenie is keeping children entertained at number seven. I still don’t think Tim Burton will gain the same audiences with this film like his has with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Frankenweenie could become more popular on DVD. Looper is staying steady at number 8. Please go see before it leaves the cinema! The art house type film Beasts of the Southern Wild stays in the same position from last week, number nine. A re-entry is Ice Age: Continental Drift, at number ten due to being shown over half-term in some cinemas.

Check out Bond, Skyfall most definitely! The sooner the better! Or wait a couple of weeks but don’t wait too long! See the film in IMAX is you can. It is a better experience, plus it is the first Bond film released in IMAX format and in its 50th Anniversary year!

I hope there is something for everyone in this chart this week. That is your top ten films for this week. Until next time happy cinema viewing!
