Movie of the Month – October 2012
By Geeky Gem and @hmsbeefnuts
This has to have been one of my easier picks for movie of the month. I really like Bond movies and I have seen them all, no there is a similar argument between who is your favourite Bond as there is who is favourite Batman. I think all the gentleman that have played the secret agent have been fantastic.
However there is just something I love about Daniel Craig’s Bond that makes me watch Casino Royale over and over again and no it’s not because you see him in tight swimming trunks, although that scene is nice to watch. However I went a bit off track there, any way it has been a few years since Quantum of Solace came out and now Bond is back in Skyfall.
The plot for this movie is still very top-secret but what I can tell you is this Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As always for your veiwing pleasure here is the trailer for Skyfall.

Well what can I say? Skyfall looks fantastic, and I would have picked that too, but, there is another movie out this month, one with a protagonist with a particular set of skills, skills that guarantee that people are going to get fucked right up. Let me ask you a question, after the events of the brilliant Taken, what gangster in their right mind would seek revenge on Liam Neeson? Did they not watch the first film? Dude went bat shit crazy when they took his daughter. Well I’m not complaining, because this sequel, Taken 2 (Taken Again?), looks just as fun as the original. I expect Liam is kicking himself, because you know the old saying, ‘Take my daughter once, shame on you. Take my daughter twice…shame on me’, so you know Liam is going to be furious about the whole Taken thing again.
Who would win in a fight? Liam Neeson or Daniel Craig? My money is on the big Irish man, years of experience wins the day, although I’m sure Skyfall will win at the box office, there is room for both these guys this month I think. Unusual that we didn’t pick a horror based film too. What will Paranormal Activity 4 be like? I liked 3, and 1 and 2, so I’m not totally dismissing it out of hand, we will have to see. But for now, let Mr Neeson tell you what to watch this October…
