Welcome back to the film chart for this week! We have a new entry this week! Les Miserables has been knocked off the top spot! In its place we have what could become a classic children’s film, Wreck-It Ralph. Released for the half-term holidays to entertain the children. The story of a baddie computer character who decides that he isn’t the bad guy and does not want to be that anymore. He decides to game jump to become the hero! At number 2 we have Les Miserables still making audiences cry. I know of people who have gone to see the film several times. I think this film will be in cinemas for awhile yet. Number 3 is a new entry with I Give It a Year, a comedy about a couple who marry within a year of meeting each other, set off on married life. It seems they are struggling in their first few months of marriage and go to counselling, will their love survive? At number 4 we have Django Unchained, a brilliant film and not for the faint hearted or the easy offended. Quentin Tarantino has made another classic film! At number 5 is Flight. A human emotion story that will tug at the heart strings. Number 6 is a new entry with Warm Bodies. This film can be described as a zombie rom-com. I saw this film this week. I enjoyed it. It was funny and an easy watch. Number 7 is Lincoln, bringing out the older generation for this film. It did win the Best Leading Actor Bafta at the weekend for Daniel Day-Lewis. Number 8 is a new entry with Hitchcock, the story behind Alfred Hitchcock’s film Psycho from the 1960s. The film has quite a cast with Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Scarlett Johansson. At number 9 we have Life of Pi still sitting strong in the cinemas after two months. I really recommend this film. At number 10 we have The Impossible, another film which has been in the cinemas for awhile. Some scenes have disturbed audience members, some have even been sick or fainted. This may be a film to watch a home when it comes out on DVD and not in the cinema.

At number 2 is Django Unchained. I went to see this film last week. It was an amazing film. It was quite violent and not for the faint hearted. I do recommend you check it out. At number 3 is a new entry with Flight. Starring Denzel Washington as a Commercial Pilot who lands his plane after technical problems. Investigations in the crash bring up other issues. This film is a human interest story. At number 4 is Lincoln. The film is nominated for many awards. Go watch this if you want to watch a historical film. Number 5 sees Life of Pi still hanging in the chart. It is a wonderful film. The Impossible is at number 6. In places the film is uncomfortable to watch. At number 7 is Zero Dark Thirty. It is a long film and contains a lot of scenes of torture. At number 8 is Monsters, Inc 3D. A lot of people are thinking this is the sequel to the first one, when in fact it is the first film re-released in 3D. Number 9 sees a new entry with Bullet to the Head. Starring Sylvester Stallone as a hitman who tries to get retribution for the death of his partner. At number 10 is Movie 43. From the audience who are coming out of watching this film there are no words to describe it. Apparently a really bad film!

Welcome back to the chart! Snow has melted away from most of Britain by the end of this week. This meant that the cinema audiences ventured out again. Les Miserables is still at the top spot of the chart! I finally got to see the film and it was very emotional. If you don’t like musicals then this film isn’t for you! At number 2 is Django Unchained. Tarantino has done it again. He has wowed audiences with his own style of film. Number 3 is a new entry with Lincoln, Daniel Day-Lewis plays the American President during the time of the American Civil War. A period piece for Steven Spielberg and nominated for 12 Oscars. Number 4 sees Life of Pi sitting strong in the chart. It is an amazing film! Number 5 is a new entry. Zero Dark Thirty comes from the director of The Hurt Locker. This new entry tells the story of the ten year hunt for Osama Bin Laden and the capture of him. At number 6 is The Impossible. Not for the faint hearted as some scenes are quite graphic. Number 7 is a new entry with Movie 43. A series of short films starring some big names in Hollywood. A loose storyline of a producer pitching ideas for a film. Apparently quite rude and crude. Number 8 sees the re-release of Monsters, Inc 3D. Number 9 sees The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey still in the chart. Number 10 is a new entry and a comeback for Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Last Stand. A drug leader breaks out of jail and races to the Mexican border where a sheriff and his rookie staff are the only ones which stand in his way.

Hello there! This week’s chart and the progress of films have been hampered by the bad weather. Snow falling over parts of Britain last Friday caused disruption. I know where I am some of the cinemas didn’t open and some closed early. It was amazing to see people still turning up to watch films when they had been advised to not undertake unnecessary travel. I guess going to the cinema was necessary travel for some! On to the chart now, the top spot still sees the film Les Miserables sitting strong. Let us see the rest of the chart!

At number 2 we have a new entry from the director Quentin Tarantino. Django Unchained is the new offering from him. It has a stellar cast and sees Leonardo Dicaprio as a nasty character, which is a change for him. It is the story of a slave, Django (the D is silent) who is freed and hired as a bounty hunter. He sets off to free his wife from slavery. At number 3 is Life of Pi. The film is amazing! Please everyone go see this film. Number 4 is The Impossible. Tissues at the ready for this human interest story. Gangster Squad is at number 5. I went to see this. I really enjoyed it. There were a few plot holes and I think they were a bit economical with the historic truth for the conclusion of the film. Number 6 is The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey still sitting strong. At number 7 is Monsters, Inc 3D. A re-release of the original Pixar film but in 3D. The sequel is out in the summer. There aren’t many children’s films out at the moment. At number 8 is Quartet for the older generation! Tom Cruise is still bringing the audiences in with Jack Reacher at number 9. Number 10 is Parental Guidance, which I think is doing well due to lack of other children’s films out on release.

Hello there and welcome back to the chart this week! There has been a change in the top spot! A new entry with the long anticipated film version of one of the top London West End shows, Les Miserables. The film has an all star cast all chosen for their singing talent and not their name. Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried. It is the story set during the French Revolution. It has a mixture of drama, music and love. It was this film which finally knocked off The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey from the top spot. Let us see what the rest of the chart brings.

At number 2 is Life of Pi. I finally got to watch this film in 3D. It was visually amazing! The story was so moving and sentimental and made you think. I recommend that people catch this before it leaves the cinema. At number 3 is a new entry with Gangster Squad. A film which was put back for its release and should have been out in October 2012. The reason for the delay was the Denver Shootings in July 2012. The film is based around the real life mobster Mickey Cohen; in 1949 a group of Police decide to go solo to bring down this mobster who is controlling Los Angeles. We have The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey at number 4. It is an amazing film! Number 5 sees The Impossible bringing in the audiences with this true story of survival. Number 6 is a new entry with Texas Chainsaw 3D, it is a sequel to the remake; The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) of the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). So as an audience we are to forget all about the sequels which were for the original 1974 film. Got it? At number 7 we have Quartet bringing in the “Grey Pound” audience! Number 8 sees Jack Reacher still in the chart. People still love Tom Cruise. At number 9 is Pitch Perfect. I went to see this film and it turned out to be funnier than I thought it would be. It is a light hearted film which would put a smile on your face! At number 10 is Parental Guidance. The Grandparents are left with the children. Disaster ensues!

The film stars Ewan MacGregor and Naomi Watts. At number 3 we have Life of Pi still going strong. I do recommend this film for the visuals alone. Number 4 is a new entry with Quartet, a film for the “Grey Pound” audiences (the older generation). This film has an amazing cast, Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly and Pauline Collins. The film is also the first film to be directed by Dustin Hoffman. Set in a retirement home for retired Opera Singers. Jack Reacher is still sitting strong in the chart. At number 6 is Pitch Perfect, keeping the teens happy. I have seen groups of older women going in to see this film. At number 7 is Parental Guidance. Keeping families entertained. Number 8 is Rise of the Guardians being popular for the children. Skyfall is still in the chart at number 9. People are still going to see this film. You can already pre-order the film on DVD for February. At number 10 is Tinkerbell and the Secret of the Wings, another children’s film.

It was very funny and I laughed out loud several times.
